A Private Moment Allowed God To Reveal His Power | Samson Ep. 4
In this episode, Rebecca and Jennifer explore Judges 14:1-14. In these verses the focus is Samson's attraction to the young Philistine woman and the desire given to him by the LORD to marry her. Two important things are happening in this section of Scripture. We see the beginning of God's calling on Samson's life to "begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines" (Judges 13:5), as he goes to Timnah to marry a Philistine woman. On this journey, God reveals to Samson the power he has through the Spirit of the LORD as he is able to kill a young lion that comes roaring toward him. There is discussion of this event and then the honey found in the carcass of the lion when Samson passed that way again. Samson's marriage feast takes place in these verses, and here he shares a riddle with his Philistine companions. He provides terms for the deal, and then shares the very personal riddle that would certainly stump his companions.
