God wants us to bring everything to Him!

For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works. Psalm 73:27-28

How often do we seek to work things out in our life that the Lord desires for us to bring to Him? Sometimes our first response to a situation is to find a solution, and we do not even consider asking the Lord. He wants us to bring everything to Him, so He can teach us through His word and give us peace, rest and understanding.

The psalmist has been wrestling with thoughts “too painful” for him, and it isn’t until he enters the sanctuary of God that he finds the truth. Is that our response? Do we run to the sanctuary of God to receive wisdom and clarity? Are we near to God, so that we can run to Him and seek refuge for our concerns and cares and even our clouded judgements? When the psalmist sought the Lord for understanding, the matter was settled for him. He says with assurance that those who are far from the Lord will perish, but “for me, it is good to be near God.”

Friends, may that be our testimony too. God is our place of refuge, our protection and shelter. When our thoughts become more than we can bear, or when we are weighed down because our eyes are focused on the wrong things, we can humbly come before the Lord, and He will bring clarity and give wisdom. He will gently correct our thinking and teach us through His word. It is here, before the Lord, we will find help and peace. Let us also say, “I will tell of all your deeds.” God will give us a great testimony to share if we will bring our problems and concerns to Him and let Him help us. Jeremiah records the words of the LORD, “‘I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?’” (Jeremiah 32:27).

There is nothing God cannot handle, nothing too big or too small. There is nothing we cannot bring to Him. Let the presence of God be the first place we run when we need wisdom, comfort, understanding, hope, and rest. When we bring Him our cares, we will have a story to tell about His goodness and faithfulness. Then we will tell of all He has done and be reminded again of His faithfulness.
